80th Birthday Poem #1

Eighty Candles
Eighty candles!
What a fire!
Douse them with
Your heart’s desire.
Blow those candles.
Cake’s delish!
But don’t forget to
Make a wish!

Happy Birthday!!!

Birthday Poem #2

Gathering Up the Decades
Gathering up the decades
As now you’ve numbered eight.
So glad you’re with us, still on earth
Alive and feeling great.

So here’s a note to let you know
You’re special to my heart.
And if I wished you all things good,
Well, that would be a start.

You’ve lived life well,
Embraced the years
With matters great and weighty.
And now you’ve earned the status of
A woman turning eighty!

(Alternate last line: "A man who's turning eighty!)

Surprise!
Surprise!
We know your special day.
Made plans, make no mistake.
The plans hold eighty candles on
Your flaming birthday cake!

Birthday Poem #5

The Numbers are Irrelevant
The numbers are irrelevant
To someone made like you.
I’ve read you’re turning 80,
And that simply can’t be true.

Your eyes are bright. Your mind is clear.
When all is said and done,
It’s time to savor every year.
Enjoy! And have some fun!

Happy Birthday!
